Welcome to the Overflow

For the past year we have been meeting every week on Sunday nights for an event called "Overflow". We have sock wrestled, played "I like people who", drank some coffee, watched the kids all lose to me in Scattergories, and get to know each other. In the process we have also added some new people and had some discussions about what we believe and why. I recently have challenged the youth to find a way to change the life of someone in their world. We sometimes think that we need to find new people to minister to, but in reality we are surrounded by people everyday that need to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ. The response of our youth has been pretty impressive. Ideas ranging from having a more in-depth Bible Study with some of them that want to serve in ministry full-time, who will help to plan events and the direction of our group, to a new Paintball team that is student led and with the emphasis on people that are seeking Christ. I am excited about the New Year and the new opportunities that God is presenting us with as we try to Glorify Him in all that we do.
Now some of you might not know why our meetings are called "Overflow". It comes from Psalms 23 where David sees that the Lord is on his side and will bless his efforts as long as David continues to serve Him. The youth of your church know that they are the benefactors of many blessings that God has given them and they seek to share those blessings with others. I hope that you will see them and get excited about your own ministry and the lives that you can change by sharing Christ.
