Post Easter Lull

These past 7 days have been probably that most hectic week of my recent history. Starting Last Tuesday we had our "Spring Breakout" events. We played Paintball, Dodgeball, had a $10 Goodwill Fashion Show (video to come on Youtube), and ended Friday by doing a service project to set up for our Easter Events. Saturday morning saw around 175 people show up for our Pancake Breakfast with the Bunny! Easter Egg Hunt, Prize Giveaways, Pancakes and Pictures with the easter Bunny. Went home for 2 hours and returned to head off to watch my buddy ride some bulls in a rodeo in Celina. We took about 25 people to that and had a great time cheering on Phillip. (More videos to come) We Got home around Midnight and crashed. 5 hours later woke up to get to church for Sunrise Service and Easter morning breakfast, which the deacons provided and did a great job. Had two amazing services complete with a duet by two of our Teen ladies, who nailed their performance, the Children's Choir leading worship in the second service, and two testimonies from a couple of our youth sponsors that brought the place to tears, when they told of how Christ had changed their lives. My day concluded by driving 3 hours to my in-laws to celebrate with my family down south. We ate way too much food and watched the Masters and then Uncle Ben became the wrestling dummy for the 4 nephews. After a short nights sleep we got up and hung around for a few hours and then made it back in time for my elders meeting that went to 10 PM discussing the future of our church. I am blessed to work with gentlemen who try so earnestly to find God's will in every decision made. When I returned home I got a phone call from my father detailing the results of his Cancer operation, which are scary but promising. This morning I should be tired and worn and worried, but instead through all of these events and the stress and the energy that was used, the blessings of this past week and people that I have met and had a chance to talk to have energized me for ministry and I am excited about the future of things happening at our church. I hope that your Easter was calmer but just as rewarding as mine.
